March 27th Meeting and Workshop

Introduction to Bobbin Lace with Maria Provencher

Maria will be with us for the afternoon after the Guild meeting to give us a taste of bobbin lace making. She will help us with basic bobbin lace stitches to make a simple bookworm. If you have ever been curious about bobbin lace, this is the workshop for you. We will learn a bit of lace history and have a chance to see a multitude of lace samples that Maria will display. She will also cover such basics as the proper way to wind bobbins and at the end we will have a question and answer session. Maria will have pillows and bobbins for us to use during the workshop. She will also have pillow/bobbin sets for sale ($20/set), for those of us who can not avoid the bite of the bobbin lace bug! The fee for this workshop is $30.00 for members and $40.00 for non-members. All Materials will be supplied.

The location of this workshop is SCIART Gallery in Camarillo. If you have any questions, please contact Ginny - furbunny at earthlink dot com

At the lace meeting, the show and tell, didnt catch the name of person who made the hand warmers as the yarn felt so nice and wondered where the pattern was from . Also those amazing easter egg dye socks were fun. Am inspired to try old egg dyes on yarn
